FAQs

General Questions

  • Yes - if you’re looking for a clinic that goes beyond basic testing, it’s important to choose one that combines advanced lab testing with personalised support.

At Generation Superhealth Clinic, we use targeted functional testing (including stool, blood, urine and saliva testing where appropriate) alongside a detailed health assessment to identify the root causes of digestive symptoms such as bloating, IBS, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea and food sensitivities.

We also support related concerns, particularly in children, including picky eating, eczema, sleep disturbances and developmental challenges.

This allows us to move beyond symptom management and create personalised, root-cause plans.

  • Functional medicine is a personalised, root-cause approach that focuses on understanding why symptoms occur, rather than simply managing them.

It looks at how factors such as gut health, hormones, immune function, nutrition and lifestyle interact, and uses targeted nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support long-term health.

At Generation Superhealth Clinic, we apply this approach through personalised care and, where appropriate, advanced functional testing.

  • Yes - many clients come to us after trying conventional approaches without long-term success.

Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, we look at underlying imbalances such as gut health, hormones, immune function and nutrient status, which can influence a wide range of concerns including digestive issues, fatigue, hormonal symptoms, recurrent illness and cognitive or behavioural challenges in children.

This allows us to create personalised plans that support long-term, sustainable health.

  • This depends on the individual and the complexity of symptoms.

Some people notice improvements within a few weeks, while deeper or long-standing issues may take a few months. Our focus is on creating long-term, sustainable changes rather than quick fixes.

  • Unlike general nutrition advice, a functional approach is tailored to your individual health history, symptoms and biology.

This allows us to address underlying causes and create targeted, personalised plans, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Yes - we support a wide range of digestive concerns, including IBS-type symptoms, bloating, constipation and food sensitivities.

We look at underlying causes such as microbiome imbalances, inflammation and digestion and create personalised plans to support long-term gut health.

  • Yes - we support hormone balance by addressing factors such as gut health, stress, blood sugar and nutrient status.

This can help with symptoms like PMS, irregular cycles, fatigue and hormonal imbalances through personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategies.

This helps create the best possible foundation for conception and a healthy pregnancy.

  • Yes - supporting children and families is a core part of our clinic.

We work with children experiencing digestive issues, food sensitivities, picky eating and recurrent illnesses, as well as those with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech or developmental delays.

  • A Registered Nutritional Therapist in the UK is a qualified practitioner trained in personalised nutrition and lifestyle science to support health and wellbeing.

Practitioners registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) — the leading professional body for nutritional therapy - meet high standards of training and clinical practice. They are also regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority.

This ensures they are professionally trained, insured and committed to evidence-informed, personalised care.

  • Nutritional Therapy is the application of the latest theoretical and applied knowledge of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health and individual care. Nutritional Therapy is based on the functional medicine principles and it addresses the underlying causes of disease using a systems-oriented, individualized therapy approach.

In clinical practice, we use a variety of tools and methods to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and see how these may contribute to clients’ health concerns. When it is deemed necessary, we use various comprehensive functional laboratory tests. These tools enable us to personalise our therapeutic approach.

  • Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals who typically work in clinical settings, such as the NHS, supporting diagnosed conditions using standard dietary guidelines.

Registered nutritional therapists, accredited by organisations such as British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), take a more personalised, root-cause approach. They focus on identifying underlying imbalances, such as gut health and hormone issues, and use tailored nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support long-term health.

  • We offer all consultations online, making it easy to access personalised support wherever you are.

Your journey begins with a discovery call, held by phone or video. Ongoing consultations take place through our secure online client portal, where we review your progress, test results and personalised plan.

We work with clients across the UK, Europe and internationally.

  • Nutritional Therapy consultations consist of a discovery call, an initial appointment and follow up appointments.

During these conversations we explore health and family history, current symptoms, your goals, your or your child’s environment and lifestyle and interpret laboratory/ functional test results (if any or needed). Based on all of the mentioned aspects, we identify and explain those underlying causes resulting in your or in your child’s symptoms. We then agree on a manageable, actionable and practical nutrition and lifestyle programme.

These individual and personalised plans are then adjusted during the follow-up appointments based on the progress of the program.

  • Based on the pre-consultation paperwork, we spend the majority of the consultation going through your or your child’s health history and medical tests if available. We discuss the current diet and lifestyle and we look at your or your child’s emotional wellbeing.

An explanation of potential key imbalances (if any) identified will be given along with a collaboratively agreed safe diet and lifestyle plan, including supplements and testing if necessary. Any diet and lifestyle plans and handouts relating to our session will be sent out within 48 hours after any consultation.

  • During consultations, we explore how you or your child is feeling - both physically and mentally -, how you were able to follow the program and why. I may provide further explanations on the “why”, I interpret further laboratory test results if we have done any and we agree how best we can put further steps in place, that suits your lifestyle at that point in time. We discuss any questions you may have and we might adjust the supplement plan if there is one.

  • It depends on the type of nutritional therapy consultation, but generally speaking initial consultations are 90-120 minutes long and follow-up sessions are 45-60 minutes long.

  • To be able to guide you through some adjustments in your diet and lifestyle, and for you to understand why we would like to adjust those certain things, it is important to talk regularly. These regular conversations also provide a safe place for you to ask questions you might have thought about since our last appointment.

If we are doing some laboratory testings, I need to interpret the results for you and we might need to adjust your nutrition and lifestyle plan and maybe your supplement plan accordingly.

  • It is great that you thought about our session! There is a possibility to you a secure chat via the client’s portal (Practice Better). However, please note, direct messages between appointments are intended to clarify questions/concerns pertaining to a current protocol and that direct messages should not be used as an open forum for discussion on matters not pertaining to the current protocol. These messages should contain simple, targeted questions that are able to be answered in 1-2 sentences each; not paragraphs. If further discussion is needed outside of these parameters, you may be asked to schedule a follow-up or hold this topic for a future consultation.

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice and ‘no shows’ will be charged in full.

It is important that you attend sessions regularly. However, if you do need to cancel an appointment please let your nutritional therapist or our admin team know with at least 48 hours notice. You can do this by emailing clinic@generationsuperhealth.com

  • Please let me know as soon as you realise you will be late. Please try to keep all scheduled appointments and be on time. All appointments end at agreed time, even if you are late. If the consultation could not be finalised, you are responsible to book and pay for an additional appointment.

  • Nutritional therapy is an individualised approach. Different people inherited different DNA, live in different environment and get in contact with different microorganisms (bacteria, virus, fungi) that potentially could all impact the individual structure of their microbiome , eat different diet and live different lifestyles - some stress more, sleep less, some walk a lot or exercise regularly. These factors all impact our body-functions. With patient-centered approach Registered Nutritional Therapists are trained to find the root-causes of issues. Giving general supplements is still a bandage to a wound or a medication to a disease but it is not always known if that really helps or not. Finding out WHY that certain health concern exists will enable trained and registered practitioners to personalise the program and if necessary, recommend suitable supplements for that certain individual.

Fertility and Pregnancy Nutrition

  • Fertility nutrition consultations should happen as a couple when possible or needed. We usually discuss one partner at the initial consultation and depending on how far we get, we might spend a bit more time finalising initial notes and plan during our next session with the partner.

However I have clients who followed different routes and I have consulted them alone.

  • I have created 3-month long packages for my fertility clients. This is the minimum we should ideally spend together to improve your chances to conceive.

It takes roughly 120 days to form a new set of ovarian eggs within a normal folliculogenesis. That is our window of opportunity that has the greatest impact to shape the health of those eggs to create higher chances of conception.

Within the first days of embryo development, cellular energy produced by maternal mitochondria will help shape and power that embryo, so any work we do together will have a huge impact on the outcome of the health of those embrios.

Spermatogenesis, the origin and development of the sperm cells within the male reproductive organs takes around 100 days and is heavily affected by modifiable lifestyle factors, including nutrition. The healthier the sperm, the higher chances the process will work effectively.

So spending 3 months together and working to optimise your health will give you and your partner higher chances to get pregnant.

However there are instances, where a longer program is necessary, depending on health concerns and current health and lifestyle choices.

  • There are a number of health concerns I consult clients with. Here is a list of a couple of them:

    • Proactive Preconception Planning

    • Fertility Nutrition and Lifestyle

    • Male fertility (including sperm and semen quality and quantity)

    • Laboratory tests

    • Unexplained infertility

    • Previous miscarriage

    • Wanting to optimise your chances before and during IUI, ICI & IVF treatment

  • The healthcare industry is overloaded and doctors and nurses are overwhelmed with so many obstacles and even more patients. In most cases the blood tests, semen analysis and some additional examinations are just scratching the surface. I offer extensive testings, if deemed necessary through private, state of the art laboratories, with many tests being non-invasive that provide a deeper understanding of your personal biochemistry, hormonal health, genetics and nutritional status.

There is a difference between your lab results are fine versus optimal; we need to address the root causes to be able to achieve that optimal health that will enable you and your partner to have that precious baby you have been longed for.

  • Please see description of tests here.

  • Yes, definitely!

Couples should plan their conception the same way as they plan their wedding, at least 6-12 months in advanced. It takes overall 10 menstrual cycles, around 290 days for new eggs to be recruited, matured before ovulation and conception. This is how long our body prepares for a chance of a new embryo. It gives us enough time and opportunity to create an optimal environment for that embryo and nurture healthy eggs and sperm. Details of my preconception planning packages can be found here.

Children’s Health
